• Do you want to work within a challenging and fastmoving environment where every day differs from another day?
• Do you want to be in control of your own career path within the field of Risk?

Then we have the ideal traineeship for you! ING is looking for students/starters who have the ambition to develope themselves into Risk professionals with a Master degree in Econometrics, Economics, (Quantitative) Finance. Studies in Mathematics, Engineering or Physics are possible as long as affinity with Risk and financial services is shown.
Explore the different sides of Risk Management
There are five tracks you can follow on the IITP. One of which is the 'Risk' track. The financial world is currently steering through turbulent water. As a Risk Trainee, you will play an important role in this. In your rotation year you could choose to work on projects within the areas of Market Risk, Credit Risk, Model Validation or Risk Capital Integration, where you will have responsibilities from day one. If you are interested in an international adventure- the option is here during your second rotation in the first year. In the second year you will start in your first fixed position and continue to grow within one of these Risk areas.
Do you already see yourself providing advice on whether or not high-risk financing activities should be undertaken? Or would you like to analyse the foreign exchange risks in relation to the ING account or the risks involved in selling extra mortgages? Then the 'Risk' track of the IITP would be an interesting choice for you.
The results of your analyses, usually commissioned by Retail and Commercial Banking, will have an impact on both our operating results and the risks that are taken. You have a strong demeanour and you dare to defend your decisions. Given your extensive content knowledge and insight into the context of the issue, you are therefore able to persuade your discussion partner of the merits of your decision.
Training and supervision
As a Trainee, you will take part in global events. With your fellow trainees you will also take part in a general and track-specific training programme. You will gain Risk-track specific knowledge and you will also learn more about banking.
You will be given the tools and support that you need to achieve your full potential during the Traineeship. You will also receive substantive support from your Manager, your HR Consultant and a Senior Manager. They will challenge and inspire you to achieve your maximum potential.
Interesting employee benefits package
In addition to an excellent basic salary, a 13th month's salary and an indefinite contract, as a Trainee at ING you will be entitled to:
- 27 days' holiday;
- an attractive pension scheme;
- an annual public transport pass (OV jaarkaart).
Ambitious starters with a Master degree
To help the ING further develop, you have:
- a Master diploma preferably in Econometrics, Economics, (Quantitative) Finance, (Studies in Mathematics, Engineering & Physics studies are possible as long as candidate shows affinity with Risk and financial services);
- obtained a maximum of two years' work experience after graduation;
- the ability to express yourself perfectly in English, both in writing as well as verbally;
- the ability to persuade others, even when your discussion partner initially offers resistance;
- gained (international) experience in extracurricular activities during your studies;
- the power to convince others of your viewpoints, due to your knowledge and communication skills and a helicopter view that enables you to maintain an overview of the bigger picture;
- an investment hobby, taking extra courses in risk or economics topics and an internship within Risk Management is a plus.
You have a strong customer focus and you are self aware. Furthermore you have a 'can do' mentality, a strategic vision and a strong analytical when resolving problems.
You call the shots!
You call the shots with respect to many aspects of the IITP Risk programme. Based on your interests, curiosity and development needs, you can state your preferences for your first project. For your next project and first position you take the initiative. Even if it's an international adventure you want - the option is there. So, you are in charge of how your IITP is designed!
