ING is looking for a high caliber High Value Operations Specialist for its Client Service Delivery Center of Excellence Trade Processing Team (FS10-FS11)

The role and your team As part of the Financial Markets Center of Excellence (CoE) Trade Processing team you represent ING in a wide variety of products and services within the Financial Markets domain. Independently and partly together with your colleagues you process high value transactions and manage relationships with other Financial institutions and ING's major Corporate Clients globally.

The CoE is responsible for the Back Office processing of transactions concluded by the business lines Financial Markets and Bank Treasury worldwide including the relevant department in the GSO Manila. As such there is a global functional responsibility towards the GSO and local back offices. The Department acts as expert team for FM and functionally manages the cross product processing chain (development/design, implementation, maintenance).

A Trade processing specialist who likes to work in a complex international Bank with the ability to maintain a multi stakeholders landscape (IT, Finance, Business Lines, Risk and Treasury departments). You are an enthusiastic professional with drive in a team that functionally controls the front-to-finance chain. You are creative and innovative in your specific domain and you have the drive to bring the business forward with your ideas and expertise. You are a self-starter, goal orientated, energetic, pro-active and an independent thinker. You have proven Financial Markets knowledge and excellent communication skills to achieve your goals in the best interest of the organization. Furthermore self-reliance and entrepreneurship combined with good team spirit and a sharp eye for risk will be instrumental in this role.

What do we ask:

·  Academic degree in business economics (or similar);
·  Preferably relevant banking experience (5+ years) with one or more relevant banking products (e.g. Corporate Lending, Trade Financial Services, Payments & Cash Management etc);
·  Excellent ex- and internal communication skills (as demonstrated in prior roles)
·  Team spirit;
·  Self-reliant and Entrepreneurship
·  Excellent oral and written skills, in English and Dutch, are essential;

·  Cross product central back office trade processing (authorize and enrich transactions, product lifecycle management and handling of exceptions) - Confirmation handling either automatically or manual creation of more complex products - Performing high risk settlements regardless of the underlying product - Settlement/Clearing of the trades (e.g. CLS, LCH, EUREX) - Intraday fails management in several markets - Comply with external regulations (e.g. confirm in a timely manner under EMIR)
·  Exception Management - Problem solving with the handling of exceptions and escalations in a global environment with global communication. (central coordination).
·  Resolving discrepancies and queries with the Front Office, Back Office, counterparties and nostro agents/custodians/clearing institutes.
·  Managing (initiation, design, coordination and implementation) as Senior Matter Expert or coordinator of all change that affects the Financial Markets processing chain. Functional owner of the front to finance trade processing cycle - Participates/contribution to Agile/Scrum activities according to the Agile/scrum methodology
·  Functional and Operational control (monitoring and steering) with high risk awareness - Work on (more complex) issues and looking and advising for process improvements to avoid operational risk. Acts (at the tactical level) as liaison between ING Bank and the business line or supporting functions.
·  Consultative to all stakeholders with full value chain Front to Finance knowledge and responsible for setting the standards and continuous improvement of the organization with changing tasks (knowledge management, change driven and change owner)
·  Optimizes the communication with the business line. Develops and maintains a network within the organization. Knowledge management. Manage/safe guarding the overall required knowledge requirements, recording, securing and distribution and ensuring its effectiveness (accurate, complete, timely and up to date)

Working environment

You will work in a professional, turbulent international environment with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The team comprises of ca 26 FTE and will work in an operating model involving a number of locations each which specific roles and responsibilities. This is achieved with clear functional and operational responsibilities with clear mandates. The team members need to be able to perform all tasks as knowledge experts/Subject matter experts (SME) and need to be fully exchangeable in self-managing teams. The accent of activities shifts from managing people to managing the total service (Process, People and Technology); functional experts with a global scope.
