Payment & Cash Management Sales, Financial Institutions, (PCM FI) Wholesale Banking is looking for a PCM Sales Assistant/Analyst, based in Amsterdam supporting the team looking after a portfolio of NBFI clients from a PCM product perspective
Job description
The NBFI (Non Bank Financial Institutions) client portfolio consist of insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, and an increasing number of (licensed and regulated) Payment Service Providers from a PCM perspective. In addition, the Dutch banks are being served by the team as well. The purpose of your role is to support the NBFI team in growing the revenue and PCM business with prospective and existing clients and opportunities in these segments.
In this role, your responsibility covers a number of aspects. You will need to:
1. General
· Learn the various PCM products and services offered to the NBFI clients
· Do research to understand specific client and market objectives/challenges
·
2. Client and team support
· Be supportive and flexible to resolve any issues raised by the clients
· Work closely together with the sales consultants
· Assist in preparing tailored pitches to support the consultant to proactively advise clients
· Be able to manage and run less-complex client projects alone (but in consultation with consultant)
· Be aware of client developments.
· Develop an understanding of AML/Compliance and CAM requirements, as it impacts these clients.

3. ING internal
· Involve other stakeholders (product management, network support, client services, etc) in meeting client requirements

Your work environment
The PCM Sales FI Team is centralised in Amsterdam and Brussels with responsibility for delivering the PCM products and services on a global basis to the FI clients. The client base is made up of a mixture of commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies, asset managers and increasingly a number of PSP and PI organisations that are licensed by the same regulators as the banks. You will work in close cooperation with various teams in Brussels, the FI relationship management team in various countries, and local PCM FI colleagues throughout the ING network .

Your profile
The person for this role has to be personable, as it is still very much a people business, within a relatively small team. Initially you need to be prepared to research and analyse the market, especially the asset managers and insurance companies, from a PCM perspective, using the profiles of the existing clients. At the same time understand how the various services work, address client queries and meet the needs of the client,. Finally you cannot succeed on your own and to be successful, you need to be a team player and be supportive, as well as flexible to help colleagues and clients to resolve any operational or other issues .
Additionally an understanding of compliance and customer activity monitoring, FATF recommendations as it impacts Financial institutions is required.

Skills required
· Be prepared to do the necessary research and have an analytical approach to determine the opportunities in the market, analyse the client base of existing and prospective clients.
· Interpersonal skills are of the essence: the ability to communicate clearly, build relationships and develop trust.
· Commercially minded with the ability to learn and understand the applicable PCM products and services to this client base
· Be able to work as part of a team, but also without supervision
· Understanding of compliance and customer activity monitoring, FATF recommendations as it impacts NBFI, PSP/MSB/PI client base
· Fluent in written and spoken English
· At least 2-4 years of experience in the Financial Industry or a comparable international environment.
