The Company
Infotraffic is an international Digital Signage company. Its core business is the creation and display of real-time, useful and engaging digital content. Founded in 2000, the company is based in Cergy, France where its staff of 15 employees manages European operations, and in Boston, Massachusetts. Our North American team consists of 3 individuals who collaborate often with our French colleagues while working to expand Infotraffic’s presence in the US and Canada.
Infotraffic’s mission is to help people save time by providing them with the fastest and most effective ways for getting from one place to another.
Our clients are largely corporate offices, commercial and residential buildings, hotels, parking facilities and other public locations of heavy foot traffic. Infotraffic works with all types of urban transportation providers to gather real-time data to add to our ever expanding database.
Product Description:
Our turnkey solution, Infotraffic System TV, consists of a customized digital display screen and a player running our in-house software. Each new project is unique and will require personalization based on the client’s needs and wants.
Infotraffic also develops an electronic rate solution for parking facilities consisting of a screen in a casing or “totem” and software that enables management to update prices in real time.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic team member to join our North American team in Boston. Our team requires an innovative, creative and resourceful engineer who is prepared to add value quickly at a growing company!
As an R&D engineer for the US team of Infotraffic, there will be three main categories of projects:
Research: This role involves implementing new features for the System TV solution (various kinds of electronics modules), searching for relevant data to add to our database (ie Uber and Lyft prices) and determining how best to provide this data to our customers.
Demos: The team occasionally travels to trade shows for networking and product visibility. As an engineer you will be responsible for preparing and setting up demos. There are times you will also be required to travel with the team to the shows and present demos of the product to visitors of our booth.
Production: Infotraffic’s engineer will also be responsible for hardware installation and maintenance. This will require on-site technical visits.
All will require gaining a thorough understanding of Infotraffic’s software and its capacities.
This role involves creativity and the opportunity to diversify your skills while learning the inner workings of a start-up. You will have the freedom to contribute your ideas and the possibility to generate personal projects, which will be implemented quickly and used in actual installations.
Requisites:
Engineering/Programming background
Knowledge of PHP/Python/NodeJS (any other language is an asset)
Experience with MySQL, Linux
Experience with Raspberry Pi and complementary modules (some Arduino knowledge is a plus).
Ability to work in a team and communicate.
Strong written and spoken skills in both French and English.
Ability to present and pitch the company and occasionally participate in prospect or sales calls.
Most importantly the candidate should be autonomous, proactive and willing to learn.
