Job description

The Company
Infotraffic combines real-time transportation data aggregation and a digital signage solution to bring useful and aesthetic content to its clients. System TV is our turnkey solution.
Our mission is to provide users with useful transportation information to help them efficiently commute to where they need to go. System TV also serves as a marketing and communication tool, oftentimes used as a messaging tool for clients, residents and visitors.
Our clients are largely corporate offices, commercial and residential buildings, hotels, and locations of heavy foot traffic.
Infotraffic works with all types of urban transportation providers to gather real-time data to add to our ever expanding database. The US and French entities work closely together and collaborate on most projects.
Product Description:
The solution we provide consists of a bespoke digital display screen and a player running our in-house software.
Every new project is unique and will require personalization based on what the customer wants.
Infotraffic also develops a parking solution, consisting of a screen in a casing or “totem”, with a software allowing the user to update parking prices in real time.
Role description:
As an R&D engineer for the US team of Infotraffic, there will be mainly three categories of projects:
Research work: implement new features for the TV system solution (various kinds of electronics modules), search for relevant data to add to the data pool (ex Uber and Lyft prices).
Demos: the company takes part in a lot of trade shows, as an engineer you will be responsible for preparing and setting up demos and sometimes accompanying the team to the trade show.
Production work: installation and maintenance of our product. This requires occasional on site visit.
All will require gaining a thorough understanding of our software and its capacities.
There is a lot to do and a lot to build, it is a great opportunity to diversify skills and to learn a great deal about the inner working of a start-up. You will have a lot of freedom, and the possibility to come up with your own projects. You will have the opportunity to see your work quickly implemented and used in actual installations.
Requisites:
Engineering/Programming background
Knowledge of PHP and/or Python (any other language is an asset)
Experience with MySQL
Experience with Linux
Experience with Raspberry Pi and complementary modules (some Arduino knowledge is a plus).
Ability to work in a team and communicate.
Strong written and spoken skills in both French and English.
Ability to present and pitch the company and occasionally participate in prospect or sales calls.
Most importantly the candidate should be autonomous, proactive and willing to learn.
Perks
