Job description

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a graduate who is interested in communications/publishing and/or marketing, and has a strong desire to hone their writing skills and gain valuable experience in a large public sector organisation.

This entry-level position sits within the internal communications team based in Paddington, London. The team manages communications to over 10,000 staff across five hospital sites. You will work within the internal communications team but you will have the opportunity to shadow members from the marketing, press and stakeholder relations teams within the communications department.
You will gain experience writing concise and engaging copy to a range of staff, and will learn how to publish onto the Trust’s intranet.

This is an unpaid internship but we believe the opportunities for learning and development will be exceptional for the right candidate. The more passion and drive you show the more opportunities there will be.

Responsibilities:
• Compile and edit the daily email to all staff
• Write engaging content for the staff intranet
• Assist in the management of the Trust’s quarterly staff awards programme and annual dinner
• Assist in ad-hoc internal communication tasks, including photography and collation of event feedback

Desired profile

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Educated to degree level
• Strong communication skills; written and oral
• Basic to intermediate computer and Microsoft office suite abilities
• Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
• Ability to create concise, accurate and informative content from complex information
• Highly organised and confident in prioritising tasks

You will need to be available between three and five days per week for a period of three months, beginning in late January/early February.
