IKEA Distribution Ltd in Peterborough has 500 driven and enthusiastic co-workers working within the Warehouse and Support Functions of this very large operation.

ABOUT THE JOB

Ensure that we follow the established routines and lives up to the high safety and quality standards. Contribute to the smooth daily operation of our functions at CDC / DC.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT
Your tasks will include:
·  Shunting Responsibilities (allowance included with role)
·  Responsibility for the smooth process regarding pallet pool
·  Ensure the safety of the site in all weather conditions
·  Loading and unloading vehicles using various types of MHE
·  Producing accurate documents of product processed
·  Responsible that entrusted equipment is used as intended, in ex. daily inspections of trucks.
·  Contributes with suggestions and ideas for improvements in daily operations and in the meetings the employee participates in, such as APT.
·  Follows policies and safety rules and regulations.
·  Responsible that the equipment is used in accordance with regulations and as efficiently and safely as possible.
·  Reports defects and deficiencies in equipment immediately to the Functional Leader/ Team Leader.
·  Carries out the tasks required on daily and weekly basis.
·  Achieve goals both in quality and efficiency.
·  Work according to IKEA's human resource idea and values. YOUR PROFILE
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
·  Ability to work uner minimum supervision
·  Security awareness.
·  Quality awareness with a basic customer focus.
·  General knowledge of how the flow is linked within each warehouse.
·  Basic knowledge of ASTRO / WMS and other relevant systems.
·  Basic knowledge of IKEA as a company and its mission and values ​​(see Human Resource, introduction material, as well as 'Furniture dealer testament'.
·  Service oriented and open minded
·  Ability to work independently
·  Able to analyse and solve problems
·  Good communication skills, ability to 'build' trustful relations GROWING TOGETHER

Additional Information :

40 hour per week contract working any 5 from 7; 10pm to 6am
