Test Technician - Chemistry

Do you want to take an active part in securing our products both from a safety and health aspect as well as quality wise?
We are looking for an analytical chemist to our chemistry team, consisting of three other colleagues. As a Test Technician within Chemistry you are responsible for testing the IKEA products in the product development process. This role is an important part of the chain to make the IKEA range sellable, with products that correspond to legislation and exceed customer expectations. The IKEA Test Lab is accredited according to ISO 17025.
In the role you will;
· Perform tests and evaluate results primarily within organic chemistry analysis
· Report and communicate the test results to the clients working with product development within IKEA of Sweden
· Work independently with the complete test process, from sample preparation to reporting
· Take responsibility for instrument maintenance
Is this a challenge for you?
To be successful in the role you need to have a university degree in chemistry, preferably within analytical chemistry and a couple of years of working experience. We see that you are familiar with method development and validation and have knowledge about HPLC and GC-MS. Experience of sampling and evaluation of emission from different materials is considered a plus!
As a person, you have a natural curiosity combined with a problem solving approach. You are very structured and have a desire to share knowledge about materials and test findings. You have the ability to communicate with experts within you field as well as colleagues working in other areas
