Technical Writer, Product Requirements & Compliances, IKEA of Sweden

Product Requirements & Compliance (PR&C) leads and designs processes to secure sellable products. We define product requirements and enable verification and monitoring of compliance. We strengthen competence regarding safety and health requirements during product development and product improvement.

Purpose of job

You will support the technical staff in deriving documentation and initiating necessary documentation on all relevant PR&C written output (IKEA Specifications in particular) in order to enhance the correctness, readability and fostering common formats and publication standards.
You will create, maintain and secure product requirement documentation/information. By making it simple and pedagogically you enable IKEA internal and external users to adapt an increasing overall understanding of the content.

Your assignment

· Serving as a part of the team creating draft, new and amended versions of standard publications as content-wise primarily populated by PR&C Specialits.
· Support PR&C Specialists with optimal, consistant and standardized ways of communicating complicated technical content.
· Deliver correct language in GB English - gramatical, spelling, tonality and readability.
· Initiate improvement actions in relation to writing structure and use of font, color, graphs, tabels, pictures or new media.
· Plan and coordinate updates of documentation together with PR&C Specialists.
· Improve quality in documentation by quality checks on language, layout, structure, illustrations, translations, readability, 'understandability', simplicity, redundance etc.

As a person you are analytical and business oriented with a high verbal capacity. You have deep developed skills in English language and a good understanding in Swedish. You are excellent in writing and explaining technical information in a clear way. You have a high social competence, service minded and have the ability to communicate in a complex international environment. You like to work with high quality demands, precise and the details in every step.

You are experienced and have a proven track record of technical documentation preferably from a product development environment. You are used to technical, legal and/or natural science oriented content and have a scientific writing sense of style. You have an academic background preferably a degree in information technology/logistics, English, communications and/or in an engineering field.
