About the role
As aVisual Merchandising&Activities co-worker,you useyourknowledge and curiosity of how people live topresentthe IKEAproduct range in ways that make itinspiringand relevant toour customers in Greenwich.
You are passionate about home furnishings, sustainability, trends and retailing and you use this knowledge togenerateideas, plan, prepareand make changeson the shop floor. You use yourvisual merchandising,layout, design and presentationskillsand enjoy working with others to achieve results in a fast paced retail environment.
This role is very varied and includes being responsible forlayout and productpresentation in specific areas / departments within the store,andalso sharing ideas with our customers through your work on theshop floorand at workshops and events.A flexible, handson, practical approach is essential as the role is physical and includes working at height and with a range of tools.
Prior to the store opening, you will workcloselywith your manager andotherco-workers inthe Communication & Interior Designteam to learn about IKEA and your role, so that you are ready and prepared to work on the store set up before we open.
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
•Yourvalues reflect the IKEA values
•You can demonstrate enthusiasm,curiosity and understanding of home furnishing and people's everyday life at home.
•You have avisual merchandising / designbased degree or previous visual merchandisingexperience (min 1 year)
•AutoCAD & REVIT experience is preferred
•You are a creative thinker, proactive witha keeneyeforaesthetics and interestin shopping behaviour.
•You are able to communicate effectively with your team and to the widerstore.
•You have a practical hands-on andcustomerfocused approachto working in a fast-paced retail environment.
•You are able to work early mornings, nightshifts, evenings and weekends. 5 days out of 7.
•You are able to travelaspart of yourtrainingbefore the storeopens.

Our recruitment process will involve a number of stages, including a project, assessment centre and interviews during March & April 2018.Therole will commence in June 2018 and is based inIKEA Croydonuntil storeopening.
IKEA supports the London Living wage foundation with a starting rate of £10.20 per hour.
