We are setting up a whole new way for our customers to plan their journey with IKEA, we need you to help us build the solutions for this.

Our mission is to create more innovative solutions to help customers plan life events and to inspire them. To do this, we have started by building our main product, Favourites. You can find this on IKEA.com and the app whenever you favourite something. Together, we need to rework how the customers can use this product on IKEA.com and how we support our other channels with the backend needed for this.

PS. We’re looking for people with skills in frontend or backend if you happen to be well versed in both – even better!

We can teach you the frameworks and technologies, don’t worry if you don’t know it all.

If you’re interested – our current tech stack in frontend is React (pipeline in Github Actions, observability through Sentry), and backend is written primarily in Golang (hosted on GCP, on GKE using Cloud Spanner as primary storage, IAC by Terraform).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As Software Engineer your main responsibilities will include:
• Building software that meets the team’s high standards
• Contribute to all aspects of the product lifecycle, with a focus on engineering
• Help maintain and improve our integration and delivery pipeline
• Support, coach, and guide team members in your areas of expertise
• Explore and apply new technologies suitable for our product
• Take responsibility for the product, all the way from ideation to runtime, this includes on call duties

At Group Digital, we set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in an uncertain and fast-moving environment. We drive the development, provision and operation of our digital products and services through the use of new and existing technology and agile delivery methods to deliver at pace. At the same time, we provide a home for digital skills to both develop and extend the technical, people and business skills needed to ensure continuous development and growth of our digital capability.
