WHO WE ARE
Hej, my name is Michal, Engineering Manager within the Fulfilment Locations subdomain in Ingka Digital (IKEA). Our subdomain focuses on the systems that are being used in our warehouses and over 420 stores worldwide. Our systems are being used by over 170,000 co-workers and handle over 1 million bulk goods deliveries and 7 million customer returns yearly.
To ensure our stores can adapt to the ever-changing needs of our customers, it is important to innovate and therefore we have decided to start the digital transformation of our system landscape. The journey is challenging and ambitious, therefore we are looking for new members to join us on it.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As part of this transition to a digital future for IKEA, the Fulfillment Locations subdomain is looking for software engineers to build the foundation for this initiative.
Our team is creating products for co-workers to plan, pick and dispatch products in stores and distribution centers in a simple, efficient and predictable way. We are utilizing the latest technologies to ensure the most optimal solution. As a Senior Engineer you will continuously improve these products by designing new integrations, building new features and measuring the impact for the co-worker.
As a person you have a proven ability to develop high quality code using and applying good practices such as SOLID and DRY. You are not afraid to share your opinion and join conversations with other product teams to set common standards. You have a curious nature, and you actively acquire new knowledge, skills and digital systems to improve your way of working.
To be successful as a Software Engineer you have advanced training in computer science or similar and you have demonstrable experience in working in an agile and DevOps environment.
The user experience of the product is a top priority for you as a developer: with your contribution our product feels fast and consistent. You get energized by delivering scalable, high-quality software in a multi-cloud environment where you confidently roll out new features.

YOUR SKILLS INCLUDE:
• Being part of the full product development process, from understanding the problem, through designing the solution to delivering and running our products in production.
• Applying and adhering to good software engineering practices. We love simplicity!
• Providing support and guidance as needed to other developers within the development team and encouraging good practices.
• Contributing to the continuous development of standards against and exploring and bringing in modern technologies and tools to boost innovation and development productivity.
• Helping to identify, measure, automate and use the right data points to improve our overall software engineering process and helping with the business to improve our digital products.
• Feeling very much at home in different ecosystems and programming environments such as Java, Sprint Boot, microservices and event driven architectures.
• Being familiar or willing to learn React/Typescript, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and cloud technologies.
