Job description

What you'll need to have

• Good knowledge of software engineering principles
• Broad knowledge of software engineering practices using industry standard toolsets
• Good knowledge of design and architecture concepts
• 3 years of experience or equivalent competency programming in C#, Python, Java or similar object-oriented/functional programming language.
• 3 years of experience in database management (SQL) as it relates to software development
• Experience in using software development frameworks and platforms, such as .NET Core, Node.JS, VS Code.
• Experience with HTML, PHP, JavaScript
• General knowledge of key techniques within data storage, data modelling, database creation, ETL and cloud storage (Azure & GCP).
• Understanding of MS Tools like PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, network and build strong relations with team members and stakeholders.

Key previous experiences and proven skills

• Formal qualifications in computer science or any engineering equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience as software engineer with similar level of experience in the assigned tech stack
• Experience of working in agile/iterative software development teams with a DevOps working set-up and with an emphasis on self-organisation and delivery to agreed commitments
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments, Azure, Azure Databricsk, GCP

Your responsibilities

Develop, run and maintain of high quality (software) code which has been tested and is ready to be shipped applying and using good practices and agreed standards.

Development of high-quality software design and architecture in accordance with good practices and agreed standards, to ensure delivery according to requirements and compliance.

Apply and adhere to good practice software engineering practices (e.g. DRY principles, TDD and BDD, continuous integration, automated tests, pair programming, code reviews) within an agile/iterative development approach including validation and verification testing.

Ensure good understanding of each user story and the expected outcome, asking for further detail when required.

Work with business stakeholders to understand and translate needs into software solutions

Contributing to the continuous development of standards against which software development should take place as well as exploring and bring in new technologies to boost innovation and development productivity.

Produce all required specifications and ensure that digital solutions work together and fulfill business needs by collaborating with developers in other countries and in Central Group Digital.
