ABOUT THE JOB
Increase sales by utilizing effective selling skills and tools to satisfy customer needs and to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store. Provide accurate and efficient handling of merchandise in the warehouse areas to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store
Your tasks will include:
·
Ensure a positive shopping experience by greeting visitors, being visible and available at all times and managing first contact resolution.
·
Provide the customer with accurate product information by determining their needs, offering solutions, alternatives and add on sales that meet these needs and contribute to your sales goals.
·
Positively impact 390 transfers by prioritizing daily taping of all open boxes and communicating consistent problems to your manager in order to find solutions to reduce open packages.
·
Update yourself on the stock supply situation in your department at the start of each shift and sales steer to what is available today.
·
Ensure BASIC ACTIONS are maintained in your department focusing on mechanical sales solutions, communication of services, taping all open boxes, keeping all aisles in "shape as new", removing empty pallets, cleaning up abandoned carts and back to stocks.

Share product benefits and information with customers
·
Provide visitors with a positive shopping experience by ensuring customer convenience standards in your sales area are met or exceeded
·
Ensure merchandise is presented according to IKEA standards and is properly labeled and signed
·
Adhere to inventory control procedures
·
Use available resources to educate yourself on product features, services and customer selling techniques
·
Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
·
Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
·
Contribute to the stores daily sales by filling the customer order correctly and completely as soon as the order is received.
·
Ensure Back to Stocks are managed throughout the day and completed before inventory each morning.
·
Collect all damaged packaging/products, complete transfer documents and deliver to Recovery
·
Complete weekly BRI stock inventory and prepare BRI for return to terminal as required
·
Adhere to all Safety and Security and Inventory Integrity procedures and routines as outlined in IKEA documentation and within your store.
·
Fill customer orders by correctly identifying merchandise locations and utilizing proper loading methods
·
Adhere to safety and security procedures including accurate and safe overstock
·
Monitor the pick bins to ensure proper replenishment and dimensioning in relation to sell through
·
Keep damaged merchandise to a minimum and follow inventory control procedures
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
·
Proactive and courteous customer approach
·
Good communication skills including legible handwriting
·
Willingness to share your knowledge and learning
·
Interest in home furnishings
·
Computer aptitude
·
Ability to work in a team
·
Problem-solving and basic mathematical skills
·
Ability to work with utility knives
·
Ability to lift 100 lbs. (50 kg) on a regular basis and operate material handling equipment
