Your mission

TheSales Navigator role focuses on the sales tasks as first and main priority.He or she will use the IKEA business priorities, knowledge of our range, trends, national market, competition, customers' living situations to actively support the Country Sales Manager and Sales Leaders to optimize sales and long-term, sustained profitability within our home furnishing businesses (HFB).

The Sales Navigator will lead the Sales Support Team and report to the Country Sales Manager.

Your assignment (areas of responsibility)

Commercial

My overall objective is to actively support the sales function to grow sales and sustain long term
profitability. I do this by:

·  working with the year cycle to understand and connect with the IKEA core processes for commercial planning, pricing and forecasting
·  sourcing information available in IKEA globally and nationally which will assist my Country Sales Manager and Sales Leaders to plan sales, pricing process, margin, range management and business intelligence solutions
·  leading the sales leaders in the national pricing process and make effective prices and volume choices
·  coaching the sales leaders to effectively steer their HFB to achieve their business goals analyzing the results of our pricing policy to understand the impact on our gross margin and sales goals throughout the year and recommending appropriate action to ensure we meet our annual goals and follow-up
·  proactively working with the commercial activities leader to identify suitable product to support national commercial activities, and creating appropriate tools to effectively monitor sales during activity periods
·  supporting the sales leaders in their drive to sell their volume commitments, monitoring store sales results and giving information which allows them to follow-up on deviations. We do this in order to improve poor performance and share good examples
·  knowing the sales steering tools and using these to create accurate follow up reports in order for stores to effectively sales steer People
·  Actively work with my Sales Manager and Sales Leaders to understand their business needs
·  Working closely with my matrix partners in Business Navigation to optimize sales and margin and with retail Logistics in aligning forecasts to availability
·  Working with my Country Sales Manager to develop the competence of the sales leaders in sales navigation, sales planning and gross margin
·  Availability to help and support my Service Office or store colleagues when needed in order to achieve our business priorities Financial
·  Supporting the Country Sales Manager to decide national sales, gross margin and gross profit budgets for my country which reflect the global and national sales strategy
·  Working with my sales leaders to set and agree national sales, gross margin and gross profit goals for their individual home furnishing businesses
·  Monitoring our performance against agreed goals, adapting and taking action accordingly.
·  Participating with Business Navigation in the bi-monthly financial reporting package for global business navigation
·  controlling costs by working in a lean, simple, cost-conscious way using best practice Your profile
·  Interest in people's everyday life at home and in home furnishing
·  Experience of working in an IKEA store or other retail company
·  Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in Dutch/French and English (both verbally and in writing)
·  Ability to understand customer needs
·  Experience of setting and implementing action plans, setting budgets and following up goals
·  Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
·  Ability to influence in a matrix organization
·  Highly developed analytical and numerical skills
·  Ability to work with timelines and schedules and maintain deadlines
·  Strong base of Excel and ability to use some data base
