Job description

What you'll need to have

• You have at least 3 years of work experience in Loss Prevention, Safety and Security, Risk or Asset Management (or a similar field)
• You naturally think outside of the box, come up with creative solutions
• You hold a valid provincial security license and Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (with AED), and are WZ and CPR trained (strongly preferred but not mandatory)
• You have experience using Access Control, CCTV, and Alarm Systems
• You are detail focused, incredibly approachable, and have a strong sense of responsibility.
• You are as cool as a cucumber under pressure and can quickly and confidently react in a crisis.
• You handle sensitive and confidential investigations with extreme professionalism and integrity
• You are totally cool with working in a fast-paced (and sometimes stressful) environment
• Your reliability and knowledge make you a “go-to” person for our co-workers who need education and support on Safety and Security issues.
• You have strong knowledge of local/federal laws and court procedures

Your responsibilities

• Ensure that a safe and secure environment is always maintained in our unit and on our property for our customers and our co-workers
• Keep your team up to date with all recent local laws, regulations, standards and Health and Safety processes (including fire and building safety codes)
• Support your team’s growth through regular talent development discussions, continuous on-the-job training and coaching
• Communicate, create awareness, coach and ensure training of all Unit Managers, team members and co-workers
• Identify and mitigate health, safety and security risks using the Risk Management Process (e.g. root cause analysis, emerging Risks, influencing factors, mitigation plans)
• Build strong internal and external relationships across the country, gaining understanding about their needs and their buy-in for your initiatives and programs
• Always work to improve current processes and procedures, aligned with the Business objective as well as the Global Risk direction
• Make sure all security systems and equipment are well maintained
• Ensure timely reporting and handling of all incidents through IRS (Incident Reporting System)
• Maintain an effective Insurance claims handling and reporting process
