About the job
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To protect IKEA co-workers, customers and assets from preventable loss, injury or illness within the store in line with the group risk manual and IKEA policies. To proactively assess and manage risks and influence co-workers within the store to establish an IKEA culture that is safety and security aware.
To support the safety and security team to ensure the store is compliant with the IKEA group risk manual, IKEA policies, guidelines, national and local legal requirements. To proactively raise awareness to co-workers around safety and security practices within their departments to promote a unified culture of safety and security in the store.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT
Your tasks will include:
· To proactively reduce risk through the implementation of duties in line with the HASAW act, regulatory reform order, IKEA group risk manual and safety policies.
· To ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers and customers through training, audits, inspections and follow-up.
· To meet the desired level of IKEA safety and security by achieving positive results during the monthly and yearly safety audits and inspections relevant to the department.
· To co-ordinate with the store's emergency response team and management in the handling of any emergency situations and provide appropriate guidance according to the IKEA emergency response plan.
· To maximize the store's profit by actively working to reduce operational instance of loss, reducing fraud and securing IKEA assets.
· To be responsible for investigating incidents both internal and external and recommending the resolution and/or revision of routines where necessary. YOUR PROFILE
Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
· Able to identify and react well in emergency situations
· Ability to independently and reliably work on agreed safety & security actions within deadlines.
· To have a proactive approach and self-initiative
· Have a high standard of written and verbal communication skills
· Being approachable and having good social skills
· Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to plan effectively and organize day-to-day operations
· Experience in persuading and influencing others
· Enjoy working in a fast-paced and future-oriented environment
· Passionate about ensuring we work together to make a more secure and safer environment for our customers and co-workers and do the best for people and the environment by creating a sustainable way of living.
· Minimum 2 years experience in a safety and security environment
· Efficient in Microsoft suite
· Full Licence is preferred GROWING TOGETHER

Additional Information :
The vacancies available are:
One 16 hour contract
One 24 hour contract
One 39 hour contract
Every other weekend will be required with availability from 7:00 to 22:00 throughout the week.
IKEA is a living wage employer and all co-workers will begin at a minimum rate of £8.25/hour.
