KEY TASKS
Assist the Risk and Health & Safety Manager in developing and implementing an annual action plan to achieve the common store Health and Safety goals and priorities.
Be the natural source of know-how about all IKEA's Health and Safety related matters and specifically relating to IKEA's Health and Safety policies.
Work with the Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) to identify potential health and safety issues and put in place solutions to minimise future risk.
Responsible for putting in place a system for ensuring all accidents are reported, investigated and appropriate actions taken to prevent future accidents occurring are implemented and compliance with RIDDOR, and follow up where required with external parties. Ensure all accidents are put on to the Loss Incident Reporting System (LIRS).
Responsible for monitoring accident trends and work with the managers to provide solutions to minimise the overall risk of accidents; to escalate issues where appropriate.
Recognise and build key relationships within the store. Use the network to share ideas for improvement using copy and paste solutions.
Develop a sound working relationship with the local Environmental Health Officers to champion the IKEA Health and Safety culture.
Promote a safe working environment for fellow co- workers, customers and visitors in line with the HASAW Act, Group Risk Manual and the IKEA Health & Safety policy.
Support a 'Safety First' Culture within the Risk team, where coworkers are encouraged to raise and discuss concerns and solutions. Ensure all the Risk team are regularly trained in Health and Safety to an appropriate level for the role and responsibilities.
Responsible for taking an active role on the Store Health and Safety Committee; specifically being a source of Health and Safety knowledge; reporting on Store accident statistics; and ensure Health and Safety work place inspections are undertaken and any concerns are raised at the committee.
Follow-up with managers to ensure all risk assessments are completed and monitored and a Safe System of Work is consistently implemented.
To coach, develop and educate all co-workers, and external partners to ensure
they comply with HASAW Act, Group Risk Manual and the IKEA Health & Safety policy.
Co-ordinate Health and Safety training in-Store and report on training undertaken to the Store Steering Group, highlighting any concerns.
Collate all relevant information relating to claims handling and pass to the relevant responsible person.
Responsible for First Aid team training, upkeep and rota.
Carry out any other reasonable request asked by the management team.
Essentials:
Full UK driving license
Customer Service/retail experience
Preferable:
Security background or experience
First aid experience
Loss prevention/policy experience
