We are looking for someone whohave several years of relevant technical working- and project lead experience and most likely a University degree in Engineering.To be successful in this role the personneeds to be an excellent communicatorand have a strong passion for people - tolead, manage, motivate and create togetherness is crucial in this position. Probably you have experience from people management as well.An analytical mind-set in combination with a holistic view on strategic business decisions and the capability tobuildstrong relations and trust with stakeholders and team members is essential. Apart from being an experiencedProject Leader the person we are looking for also have working experience within materials, construction, technical solutions and cost calculations, as well as an understanding of and an interest in production. Curiosity, humbleness with stability and eagerness to find new and better ways of doing things are characteristics for the PDE.
This person is energetic, determined and driven by creating pre-requisite for innovation and problem solving. A sound leadership, always with the team and customer in focus are important aspects!

You will interact and work together with people from all around IKEA and the world. Our corporate language is English, so fluency both verbally and in writing is required.

About the job
Right now we at Business Area Bedroom and Bathroom are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our inspiring team.The PDE is responsible for planning and leading the technical resources in the product development projects and securing all parts of Democratic design from a technical perspective.

BA Bed & Bath is our biggest Business Area representing one third of IKEA's Sales volume. We are a leading bedroom brand on the market and we have ambitious plans to continue developing and securing our top position. For the bathroom business we have a similar agenda with ambitious goals and development plans.

About the assignment
It is all aboutlead the technical development in the product development process to secure creative, production adapted solutions to exceed customer expectation in our products. It consists of actively search information and knowledge contributing to technical development and share this amongst the product development team members and technical specialist. The PDE is highly involved in defining the product development project as well as securing the right competence and resources from a technical perspective. The PDE is responsible overall for leading and making sure the technical development projects are carried through and delivered in time, and following up on the results. Leadership, delivery and working with and through people is crucial in this role.

Together with the Product Offer Development team the PDE is responsible for developing, revising and leading implementation of action plan for cluster of products. You are technically responsible to secure that our running range is, from a legal and safety perspective, sellable on all markets.
