Job description

It is the role of the digital merchandiser to achieve maximum sales growth and profitability through the digital channel by combining aesthetics and commerciality to convert more consumers to customers and encouraging existing customers to shop more frequently by using and developing home furnishing competence, commercial and communication skills.

YOUR ASSIGNEMENT

You will:

· Continually merchandise the IKEA website in the most optimal way, taking care of strategic and volume products so that they are strongly promoted across the website.
· Actively trade the website, review sales performances and react accordingly. Use the website to understand all the various aspects that affect the customer's online journey. Ensure that website visitors can search, find, choose and buy in an optimal way.
· Know the global IKEA priorities, the IKEA product range, the national market and competition, and work to support commercial activities and the commercial calendar, which will convert more visitors to customers and generate repeat visits.
· Seek and identify business opportunities that will grow sales and improve gross profit by analysing market trends and benchmarking with other eCommerce operations.
· Work actively with the online product range, monitor performance and continually develop the range to maximise sales.
· Optimise presentation and the sorting and filtering of online products to maximise all sales opportunities by being the product range specialist. Present the product range online in a commercial way to encourage customers to buy more by making it easier for them to find the right products and solutions.
· Create recommendations for sales steering and the most relevant and commercial cross selling, up selling and add on opportunities, and applying these techniques to the most appropriate positions online.
· Give feedback on how to improve the online experience for visitors and customers.
· Identify and monitor the multi-channel and online developments of key competitors. Understand national market demographics, the economy, life at home of different consumers and different shopping behaviours. Your tasks will include:

· Responsible of the customer journeys for the core area, securing and optimising them by working closely together with the Conversion Rate Optimisation Specialist, Range Specialist and Content Editor
· Responsible for planning and keeping all product listing pages optimised based on commercial priorities and activities to show width and depth of the IKEA range
· Follow up the performance of the digital merchandising by analysing customer behaviour
· Contribute to the content process supporting the digital customer experience, with knowledge of the IKEA range and market relevancy
· Contribute to conversion optimisation by actively collaborating and sharing with the sales leaders, for example for add-on sales and cross-selling
· Understand the market and monitor the competitors, looking for new range presentation techniques and features
· Know the living situation of the consumers and grasp the changes in shopping behaviours which could impact the range presentation
· Share insights with key stakeholders in the market and the global matrix on how to improve the multichannel IKEA customer experience

YOUR PROFILE

· We are looking for someone who has a passion about home furnishings with both commercial and merchandising experience with a keen attention to detail. You will have experience analyzing data to inform how you merchandise the ikea.com based on your knowledge about the customer shopping behaviors. You will be a confident communicator at all levels and have experience with stakeholder management. Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

· Experience of working in a retailer environment
· Familiarity with digital commerce best practices in your market
· Expertise in sales steering and range presentation
· Basic understanding of SEO
· Manage digital assets with knowledge of web design & merchandising techniques
· Knowledge of the end user need in the IKEA multichannel shopping experience
· Able to use problem solving and conflict handling techniques
· Ability to deliver insights based on analyzing data, test results and using different types of tools, in order to drive optimal customer experience for the market
· Good analytical and strategic skills and the ability to balance range presentation and commercial priorities when merchandising the product listing pages
· Confidence in communicating clearly with different people in various situations
