Your Mission:
Contribute to a positive experience for our customers/co-workers by preparing and serving food according to the IKEA Food Concept to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store and the best retailer to work for
Your Goals:
· Prepare hot food following IKEA’s hot food concept profile
· Maintain food preparation standards according to existing recipes using approved ingredients
· Serve customers on the food line and in the dining room.
· Prepare special requests
· Perform light baking
· Prepare all daily specials and soups
· Follow all health regulations for proper food handling and hygiene
· Communicate information to the customer on hot entrees and other foods and service offered in the Restaurant
· Process customer payments accurately on the register
· Communicate to manager and/or complete ordering and inventory needs
· Inform manager of any safety hazards or equipment hazards
· Clean and maintain equipment according to equipment cleaning standards set
· Use available resources to educate yourself on Food Service products, services and customer interaction skills
· Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers
· Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
You Have:
· Proactive and courteous customer approach
· Ability to operate ovens, grills, stoves, steam tables, fryers, and other electrical equipment
· Ability to work with knives, slicers, mixers, and other food preparation equipment
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. (25 kg)
· Certification from an accredited culinary program or degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or Culinary Arts
· 2-3 years experience cooking in a full service restaurant or institutional food service establishment
Your Workplace:
· High volume, fast-paced food service/retail environment.
· Continuous repetetive hand motions; standing and bending for long periods with cleaning compounds, soaps, and chemicals
Your Business Partners:
· Reports to: Food Service Manager and Assistant(s)
