Who you are

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you demonstrate passion, love and commitment to food, its quality and presentation. You have experience working in customer facing fast paced environments and are enthusiastic about working with others in a team. You have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a polite and friendly manner. Previous experience in hospitality, cookery or a certificate II in commercial cookery is advantageous. You are able to follow HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks. As our Co-worker Restaurant is operational 7 days a week, including weekends, you will be rostered to work a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts, and will get one weekend off out of 4. We also offer no split shifts, and you would finish no later than 9pm.

Your responsibilities

As an IKEA Food Co-worker, you ensure your area is efficiently maintained as well as clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience for our co-workers. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Ensuring the Co-worker restaurant is always presentable.
• Operating the POS register for Co-workers purchasing meals and maintaining the Co Worker restaurant.
• Complying with strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
• Supporting other areas of IKEA Food where needed to ensure annual goals and targets are achieved.
• Kitchen Operation - Food preparation, cooking and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
• Dishwash – Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the Co-worker restaurant.
• Ensuring the Mini Swedish Food Market is maintained and clean.
