Who you are

As the Financial Accountant (Record2Report) you will be responsible for the legal accounting of all IKEA companies in the UK&IE and supporting our Business Operations Transformation project of migrating to SAP HANA S4 Ensuring all entities' balance sheet accounts are accurately recorded in line with group rules and local legislation.
Working closely with all areas of the business and finance to ensure that each legal balance sheet reflects a true and fair position of the business activities and results.
Essential Requirements:
• Qualified Financial Accountant ACA/ACCA
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Financial Accountant
• Strong communications skills
• Self-starter and self-motivated
Preferred System Experience: (nice to have but not essential)
• SAP
• SAP HANA S4
• Coda

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all transactions booked into the financial system are accurate and correctly posted
• Responsible for producing timely and accurate reconciliations of all accounts in their control at each period end. Working with the external auditors and the Reporting Manager you are responsible for setting period close timetables.
• Responsible for all financial reporting processes in their control, ensuring that it is effective, with good controls in place and that each process is well documented. At all times, the processes should lead to accurate and timely recording and reporting, in line with accounting and tax regulations
• Responsible for supplying the auditors with the yearend schedules required to support a successful year-end clean audit report.
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting and tax legislation and then ensure the Reporting function is compliant with the requirements of these changes.
• Responsible for analyzing and submitting bi-monthly results to Group reporting, and answering any queries.
• Apply business and accounting knowledge to make sense of the transactions and challenges when necessary.
• Involved in the rollout of finance projects – UAT testing, migration, Dress rehearsals, and be delegated in Subject Matter Expert R2R absence.

What you need to know

This position is full-time on a Fixed Term Contract until the end of February 2023. You will work 39 hours per week, this position is full-time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Service Office principal location is Hybrid working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in the office and the remainder flexibly working remotely at home.
