About the job

PURPOSE OF FUNCTION

To inspire customers by delivering IKEA furnishings in their home, with great service impressions that exceed their expectations.

To provide a high quality delivery service in a simple, safe and cost - and time - effective way. This will contribute to customers' perception of the IKEA Brand and the IKEA retailer as a high-quality and affordable home furnishing specialist and the leader in life at home.
To be able to work proactively across all store functions as and when necessary.
The aim is to motivate our customers to shop with us more frequently because they trust us to make their shopping experiences successful and their visits worthwhile. Every customer counts.


ASSIGNMENT

Pre - Check the van before use for any damage, check the fluid levels and ensure it is road legal.
Ensure the van is clean and tidy at all times, with the correct equipment available to ensure the products can be loaded and transported safely.
Check the items before they are loaded onto the van to ensure the orders are correct, complete and not damaged.
Load the items into the van in a correct and safe manner reducing potential damage and ensuring the van is not overweight.
Reduce the environmental footprint and minimize costs by driving to the customers destination in a safe and controlled manner adhering to the speed limits at all times ensuring the products are not damaged on route.
Arrive at the customers address, assess the venue and conditions.
Make contact with the customer and establish rooms of choice and assess the access to each room, including the use of a disclaimer form if the access may cause damage to the property or furnishings within it.
Off load the products from the van and take them into the customer's rooms of choice.
Check the products off with the customer and obtain a customer signature.
Ensure great customer service is given at all times.

ESSENTIAL FOR PARTICULAR JOB

Age 22 or above.

Full driving license with a maximum of 6 points penalty points and 24 months since passing the driving test.
Experience of working in a customer- and commercial-oriented business.
Practical hands-on approach to work and the ability to take on personal initiatives.
Open to change and a high level of flexibility.
Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics.
Possess a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to explain ideas and solutions verbally.
Enthusiastic about assignments and working with others in a team.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and organize own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed deadlines.
Good knowledge of the IKEA product range
Clean Full GB Driving License
Proficient communication in English and basic computer skills.

PREFERRED
Home delivery experience gained as a van driver or drivers mate.
Working in a customer facing environment.
Enjoys a hand on approach in a physical environment.
High flexibility when dealing with new challenges.
Solution-orientated behavior
Can be flexible in working shift patterns.

A fantastic opportunity is available to join an exciting team within Customer Relations.

We are recruiting for various contracts and shift patterns

2 x 39 hour ( full flexibility required)
2 x 24 hour (weekends, and Thursday or Friday late) or
2 x 16 hour (weekends)
