About the job

Aboutthejob"> Your Mission:
o Ensure a safe, clean and functional environment for our visitors and Coworkers to strengthen IKEA's position as the best home furnishing store in your local market
Your Goals:
o Maintain store in “Shape as new”
o Administrate and monitor preventive maintenance program and utilize efficient Energy Management System
o Partner with Store Controller to negotiate and monitor external service contracts and to forecast financial budgets pertaining to Facility Maintenance
o Maintain and be contact person for: HVAC, electrical, lighting, sprinkler, and other fire prevention systems, sewage, plumbing, water, gas lines, energy equipment, company vehicles, and computer hardware
o Conduct and act upon building, grounds, and maintenance inspections
o Ensure cleaning, landscape maintenance, snow removal, recycling and garbage disposal
o Implement and monitor Facility department routines and procedures
o Attract, develop, and inspire Coworkers by realizing the Human Resource Idea to become the best retailer to work for
o Create an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of Coworkers and customers
o Contribute as a member of the Services Management team and Safety Committee and lead your Facility Maintenance team
o Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
You Have:
o In-depth knowledge and experience in energy management, sprinkler, generator, and electrical systems
o Mechanical aptitude with HVAC knowledge
o Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
o Construction experience is considered an asset
o Proven leadership abilities, with strong communication skills and a customer service focus
o Strategic, analytical and tactical abilities
o Networking, negotiation and organizational skills
o Computer proficiency
o Interest in home furnishings
o Ability to lift 50 lbs. (22.7kg)
o Building maintenance and/or HVAC Journeyman ticket
o 2-3 years IKEA Facility experience including internal training programs or 3-5 years Facility experience, retail preferred
Your Workplace:
o High volume, fast-paced retail environment
o Minimal domestic travel
o Emergency response may be required on 24-hour basis
o Required to climb ladders, enter restricted areas and potentially hazardous situations
o Able to work in inclement weather conditions
o Hours of work include Weekdays, Evenings, Saturday, Sunday, and Statutory holidays
