ABOUT THE JOB

To support the ambitious growth of IKEA in North America and make our products accessible to more people, IKEA Distribution Services and IKEA USA are currently planning a new Customer Distribution Center in the San Francisco area. The new Customer Distribution Center will be an IKEA operated building, expected to open in T1 FY18.

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for reaching excellence in daily operations by leading, coaching and developing the organization which delivers goods within the agreed time and in the agreed upon time and agreed upon quality to the lowest possible operational costs.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:
·  Secure, develop, communicate, explain and follow-up of strategy, business plan, and relevant actions throughout the organization.
·  Lead, coach, and develop a high performing CDC organization (communication, flexibility, performance culture, competence development, succession planning).
·  Increase efficiency of operations (reduce costs, improve productivity) with a focus on total supply chain.
·  Collaborate with the local market to assist in positioning the IKEA Brand as leader in life at home.
·  Responsible for budget and results for CDC and secure that benchmarking and improvement process is in place.
·  Secure warehousing process and implement required technology within the site.
·  Ensure IKEA rules and guidelines, as well as laws and regulations, are followed.
·  Coach and support the development of individuals within area of responsibility.
·  Ensure internal and external benchmarking for key indicators are followed and completed.
·  Lead and participate in networks and projects.
·  Represents IKEA values and nurtures a strong IKEA culture.
·  Performs other duties as assigned.
·  Contributes to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers. YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:
·  University degree (Logistics, Economics or related) or equivalent in working experience
·  3-5 years of experience in a management position with proven performance (preferably in Logistics, Retail or related)
·  Previous management experience, with proven leadership skills which enable you to communicate, inspire and motivate IKEA co-workers
·  Ability to implement structural way of working within area of responsibility
·  Fluent in English (written & spoken) and willingness to learn local language
·  Being an ambassador for IKEA culture and values both internally and externally
·  Customer oriented, always striving to reach customer success
·  Good understanding of Supply Chain and aspects related to logistics
·  Good Understanding of social and environmental aspects related to logistics
·  Strong communication and relation skills, ability to build trustful relations and commitments
·  Customer centric thinking
