About the job
Your mission
As a Business Navigator youdevelop sales in an efficient and effective way in all media and through all channels, in order to attract more customers who come more often and buy more. We do this by identifying growth potentials, optimizing our sales priorities, commercial activities and ensuring the right forecasts for our total offer. Your main responsibilities are developing and executing sales steering, selling the IKEA way, range grouping, pricing, range management and launches. This ensures an enjoyable, convenient and successful shopping and buying experience, which leads to growth and sustained long-term profitability.
You actively support the Country Commercial Team and the sales function to grow sales and sustain long term profitability.
You will report to the Country Business Navigation Manager
Assignment (areas of responsibility)
· Working with the year cycle to understand and connect with the IKEA core processes for commercial planning & steering, pricing and forecasting
· Knowing our global priorities, our range, life at home, the national market and competition and using this information actively with the sales leaders; together we drive sales growth, run the range renewal process and make most effective use of national price investments and price adjustment
· In cooperation with the sales leaders actively seeking, identifying and swiftly acting upon businessopportunities which will grow sales and improve gross profit by using all available information (customer feedback, competition, supply and performance analysis) and benchmarking stores.
· Support the sales leaders in their drive to sell their volume and profit commitments by monitoring sales results and giving information which allows them to follow-up on deviations. We do this in order to improve poor performance and share good examples
· Challenging and supporting the Activity sales leader to setup commercial activities for which the ROI and benefits are previously clearly defined, measured during and after the activity and for which the results serve as a learning to optimize future commercial activities. Doing this we contribute to a maximized impact of our Vitality calendar.
· Working actively with retail logistics in aligning forecasts to availability and to identify potentials in supply methods to increase profitability.
· Working with my colleagues to secure the effective implementation of tools, working methods and best practice, in order to secure a strong retail foundation and raise our existing base. We follow up on these to ensure we maximize the benefits.
· Taking the lead in the commercial part of the bi-monthly re-forecasting process by supporting the sales leaders in forecasting the turnover and gross margin from country to store, from HFB to article, from year to week level as part of the reforecast process.
· Working together with the sales leaders, store BNOM's and my service office colleagues to secure our knowledge and understanding of all the components driving gross margin to maximize the gross profit.
· Working together with the business navigation team, the commercial team, IKEA Food and the store BNOM's to broaden our commercial and financial knowledge. I do this to support the maximization of commercial opportunities in our market Your profile
· You have the ability to prioritize and organize your own work and have a proven record of consistently meeting agreed budgets and goals, and working on plans over a number of years

· You are fluent in English and at least one other language (Dutch or French)
