ABOUT THE JOB

This role will act as a leader in developing, monitoring, and training managers and co-workers on financial metrics that affect the store’s commerciality and profitability. In addition, they will be tasked with managing the store’s administration and accounts to ensure an accurate representation of the general ledger and financial statements to strengthen IKEA’s position as the best home furnishing store.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:

·  Support the Business Navigator in achieving P&L financial goals and objectives.
·  Coordinating with the commercial team and the shopkeepers to broaden our commercial and financial knowledge, in order to maximise the commercial opportunities in our local market using appropriate metrics.
·  Act as an approachable, trustworthy and knowledgeable speaking partner who leads by example. I actively lead and develop co-operation across all areas of the store, through working closely together, sharing knowledge and showing understanding of each other’s responsibilities in order to achieve our objectives.
·  Securing knowledge and understanding of all the components driving Gross Margin throughout the store, so that we work together to maximise the Gross Profit and coaching manager and co-workers in the store on relevant Business Navigation competencies, to improve their contribution to business performance.
·  Acting as an advisor on ROI for proposed commercial projects and initiatives to evaluate the financial viability and long term impacts.
·  Develop and create evaluation tools to track and monitor progress of goals and KPI’s.
·  Review, reconcile, and analyze accounts in the general ledger.
·  Process accounts payable in a timely manner.
·  Oversee the archiving and retention process to ensure the store operates according to the IKEA Administrative Rules and Guidelines.
·  Management of invoices, petty cash, expenditures, journal entries and accruals.
·  Order and maintain general office supplies and other equipment for the store.
·  Organize, administer and follow up on orders for store projects
·  Assist in the preparation and execution of the month and year-end closing
·  Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers
·  Update and maintain weekly and monthly reporting tools.
·  Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur.
·  Lead by example and be available to support the store when needed.
·  Participate in the Store Support Manager function in order to ensure the health & safety of our co-workers and provide a positive customer experience
·  Weekend and evening Store Support Manager shifts are required for this role
·  Work effectively with management to order & maintain supplies throughout the store
·  Reliable communication with your Service Office partners to ensure clean accounting ledgers are maintained on a weekly and monthly basis YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include:

·  2-3 years of previous finance experience in a multi-unit retail operation or equivalent required.
·  2-3 years accounting/administrative experience including internal accounting, ordering & invoicing programs
·  Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to present and communicate complex data in an effective way
·  Strong analytical and excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Ability to communicate with both internal management and external vendors regarding accounting, budgets & billing matters
·  Highly developed attention to detail and accuracy
·  Strong knowledge of accounting systems and procedures
·  Well organized and able to work independently
·  Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet strict deadlines
·  Computer proficiency (Moderate to high level excel skills preferred) YOUR WORKPLACE
