Business Navigation Manager (IKEA Johor Bahru)
Report to: Store Manager

ABOUT THE JOB
You use knowledge of the IKEA business and the local market and work together with the store management team, store teams and business navigation team to steer the store towards growth, optimal performance and sustained long-term profitability. Always take a multi-dimensional view in work and consider all customer, commercial, people, financial and operational perspectives.

YOUR KEY ASSIGNMENT
Your tasks will include:

Commercial
1. Proactively working with local market data to understand peoples' life at home in order to support sales growth. Also understand the IKEA range and commercial priorities to support and contribute to the commercial agenda.
2. Having the full overview of the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the store and understand how different actions impact the different lines in the P&L and store performance.
3. Working together with the commercial team and the shopkeepers and IKEA Food (IF) to broaden our commercial and financial knowledge, in order to maximize the commercial opportunities in our local market.
4. Driving sales growth by being aware of the top sellers, supporting the range renewal process and making most effective use of price adjustments.
5. Securing knowledge and understanding of all the components driving Gross Margin throughout the store, so that we work together to maximize the Gross Profit.
6. Working in partnership with the Management team to lead the staff planning process within the store to ensure that we have sufficient co-workers' availability.

People
1. Leading and inspiring your team to constantly increase their knowledge of people's life at home and developing their home furnishing competence.
2. You love to develop people and be able to transfer knowledge in theory and practice through business process. You have a passion for working with different cultures and living the IKEA values.
3. Recruiting your team through IKEA values by identifying what skills are needed to get the job done as well as what motivations and capabilities will compliment the existing team.
4. Setting clear goals and expectations and following them up with the team.

Financial
1. Actively contributing to the development of the store Business Plan, ensuring it is aligned with IKEA global directions, the country's priorities and local potential.
2. Summarizing and communicating our Financial Goals (including P&L) to ensure that they are agreed, communicated and clearly understood by everyone.
3. Developing the Scenario Plans and ensuring they are well documented, realistic and communicated. Driving the follow-up process to ensure we focus on delivering the business plan.
4. Responsible for securing that the costs are in line with goals and to highlight deviations and potentials, in order that we can take action to achieve our goals.
5. Negotiating cost effective contracts with external service providers under your direct responsibility,

Operations
You work with the Store Manager in achieving excellence in store operations. You are responsible for the following areas and/or departments:
A. Safety and security - ensuring that the rules and guidelines from the IKEA Group Risk Manual and country legislation are implemented and monitored.
B. Property and maintenance - ensuring the store is in shape as new by managing maintenance and property.
C. Recovery - effectively managing the recovery department to achieve the best balance between ASIS sales and costs.
D. ASR/Admin., Rules & guidelines and Local Routines, Cash administration and Accounting – be responsible for accurate administration in accordance with the legal rules and regulations.

Your key knowledge, skills and experience include:
1. Previous 3 years management experience from IKEA store in a financial/commercial role with proven analytical and numerical skills
2. Minimum 5 years in managment role/department head role
3. Understanding the profit and loss and how to affect its result through actions is essential
4..Proven experience of setting and implementing action plans, setting budgets, providing clear direction and following up goals.
5. Proven strong leadership in IKEA with experienced in developing people in the organization.
6. Ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions and take commercial decisions based on this information.
