Besides our public museum we also have a key assignment within our Archive & Collection organisation to safeguard, structure and share IKEA heritage and make it accessible for today´s business development needs and for future generations.
We are now looking for an Archivist to join the Archive & Collection team at IKEA Museum in Älmhult. We are growing and building an organization to be ready for a new challenging assignment and we need you!
Job Description
As an Archivist you will make our IKEA history accessible through structuring and organizing the archive according to accepted archival standards. Provide research services, compile and deliver content to both internal and external stakeholders .
Your main responsibilities will be:
· Responsible to sort and organize our historical documents in such a way that they are searchable and accessible.
· Safeguard the historical documents by ensuring that the storage facilities meet a defined disaster plan, security and protection standards, and are built and maintained with environmental controls.
· Be responsible for providing correct historical information upon request, primarily to IKEA units.
· Keep up-to date with the development of the IKEA Concept and business.
· Secure routines to collect archival material that is generated in the business today.
· Secure that we have updated and known rules and guidelines for how we work with and handle our historical documents.
· Keep up-to-date with best practices as well as changes and improvements to existing policies, guidelines or standards
· Initiate and lead different activities within the field of documenting our history.
Qualifications

Other relevant qualifications:
· A degree in the field of Archive and practical experience/training
· Good knowledge of how to structure and organize historical documents.
· Good knowledge about different work tools connected to the field of historical documents.
· Ability to share your knowledge as well as you are curious and eager to learn more
· Driven and have the ability to build trustful relationships
· Create an open and inclusive environment.
· Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English, verbally and in writing.
Additional information
This position is full-time assignment (40 hours per week), starting as soon as possible. You will be located in Älmhult, Sweden and report to the Teamleader Archive & Collection at IKEA Museum.
