We are looking to welcome new Visual Merchandising & Activities Co-Workers to our amazing Communication & Interior Design team based in IKEA London.

We have BOLD plans to transform the City, getting closer to the many people, as our second City Unit comes in the heart of London, in one of the country’s most iconic locations in Oxford Street!

We are developing a new City Communication and Interior design team that will transform the IKEA London experience and exceed our customers’ expectations.

For this role you will be having a dual unit base in Oxford Street and Hammersmith city stores.

During the first 6-9 MONTHS you will be training and working on creative projects bringing you up to speed on all things IKEA. Travelling & flexible working amongst all our London units - Wembley, Croydon, Greenwich, Hammersmith, Lakeside - will be required.

Are you an experienced interior or shop designer, with competence in planning, store layout, retail commercial projects or someone who is starting your creative career aspiring to work in a fast-paced environment with endless development opportunities, this is a hands-on role on the shop floor securing IKEA’s unique brand identity.

You will be developing inspiring and affordable display solutions with our iconic product range, from ideation to launch, delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Start Date: October 2023

• Competitive Salary starting at £26,500 per annum based on experience and competence
• Permanent contract working 39 hours a week
• This role will require availability to work early morning shifts, occasional late evenings and weekends, when required to support our range changes throughout the year.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
• You have a degree in a relevant creative field.
• Knowledge in design software such as Autodesk REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, is preferred but not essential.
• You are a self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills.
• You live our IKEA values while performing in our business as what we do and how we do it is equally important.
• You perform everyday tasks with our IKEA vision and long-term goals in mind.
• You develop knowledge and new skills with enthusiasm, and you are keen to develop yourself and others

KEY RESONSIBILITIES
• Use visual merchandising competence to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity, inspire and surprise our visitors.
• Work with our commercial calendar, planning and implementing inspiring commercial displays for the stores.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure a seamless shopping experience.
• Contribute to position the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
• Stay updated on trends in home furnishing & retail experience.
