Who you are

As a visual merchandising specialist, you present the IKEA range at the store in St. Gallen. With strong visual impressions, you will continually surprise visitors in an inspiring way and thus strengthen the IKEA brand.

To successfully fulfil these tasks, you bring following skills:
• You are enthusiastic about home and furnishing and have a good feel for colour, shapes, and materials. You enjoy working in a future-oriented retail environment and creating a positive and inspiring shopping experience for our customers.
• You have an education as a polydesigner 3D and/or experience in scenography, architecture, or shop design, which enables you to work creatively and practically.
• You are familiar with sketching, mood boards, cordless screwdrivers, and paint rollers, as well as using the drawing program REVIT or similar.
• Good German and good Level of English are required to communicate well with all employees and understand our specific manuals - if you do not speak German, then we need fluent English and the willingness to learn German in a brief time.
• Contribute to excellent results in the furniture store 5 days a week, between Monday and Friday.

Your responsibilities

• 'Where others see furniture, we see clever solutions for a better everyday life.' You design inspiring and coordinated solutions for different target groups and in different styles - this means you inspire our customers and exceed their expectations.
• You present the IKEA brand throughout the furniture store in a distinctive and contemporary way. Your sample solutions show the many advantages and possible uses of IKEA products and make the purchasing process easier for our customers.
• According to the specifications of the IKEA concept, you plan shops and layouts for individual departments and product areas and are involved in their implementation. You will use appropriate presentation techniques and ensure inspiring product range coordination. This includes craftsmanship and the correct lighting.
• To stay current, you'll continually deepen your knowledge of decor and trends, as well as how people in your local market live and what their needs, wants and dreams are for home life.
• By constantly presenting new product ranges and seasonal adjustments, you will always create new, surprising experiences for our customers in the furniture store that encourage them to buy and make them want to visit again.
• You work closely with colleagues from other departments in the furniture store and also coordinate the work of external companies in coordination with your leader.
