A great opportunity has become available for a Carpenter Co-Worker to join our Design Team, based in IKEA Lakeside.

 WHAT WE OFFER
• Salary of £30,000 per annum.
• 39 hours a week working 5 days out of 7, however flexibility is required. Ordinary shift times will be Monday to Friday from 07:00am to 15:30pm. Shifts will be flexible to accommodate store projects and will include occasional night shift and weekend working.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
• You have previous carpentry experience in some sort of capacity, ideally retail fit-out, the construction and building industry or from exhibition installations. 
• You have proven experience in carpentry and in the use of basic carpentry tools and equipment, and hold an NVQ Level 2 Qualification/Diploma in Wood Occupation - Site Carpentry.
• You have great problem solving skills, and you are a natural team player (especially when working to deadlines around the store with our many teams).

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Following work briefs agreed with colleagues to implement all store media, such as wall constructions, floor laying, painting and the building of complex furniture installations.
• Planning and ordering materials and resources, ensuring accurate costs are sought and agreed in order to maximise efficiency and minimise costs.
• Working with your colleagues to make sure the store is always in excellent shape.
• You will carry out work in relation to floor finishes (laminate and hardwood), skirting and architraves, kitchen and bathroom installations to a high showroom standard, and general carpentry where needed throughout the store.
• You ensure the timely implementation on all projects, and that work is completed to a high standard.
• You ensure all solutions are safe and secure.
