Job description
What you'll need to have
• You have at least one year of experience in the field of loss prevention or a similar field.
• You hold a valid Ontario Security Guard license; you are a Certified First Aid and CPR Responder.
• You pay great attention to detail, are incredibly approachable and have a strong sense of responsibility.
• You are thorough, accurate and timely when conducting your investigations and reports.
• You keep your cool under pressure and can react quickly and confidently in a crisis.
• You manage sensitive and confidential information with extreme professionalism and integrity.
• You have no problem working in a fast-paced (and sometimes stressful) environment.
•Your reliability and knowledge make you a resource person for our co-workers who need training and support on health, safety, and security issues
• You have a basic knowledge of local and federal laws and court procedures.
•Previous Loss Prevention / floor walking experience is an asset

• Ensure that the environment is always safe and secure in and on our property, for our customers and coworkers.
• Respect and apply all appropriate IKEA health and safety procedures and ensure that all other co-workers do the same.
• Respond promptly to all health and safety needs and perform first aid or other emergency/safety procedures necessary to meet those needs.
• Open and close the store in accordance with IKEA procedures.
• Regularly conducts all operational and security audits, as required.
• Conducts assigned health and safety investigations and follows up on all incident reports in a timely manner.
• Takes responsibility for other tasks and projects, including helping your co-workers carry out their responsibilities when necessary.
•Actively promote theft prevention awareness across the unit and support with educating coworkers into a security mindset
•Conduct lawful apprehensions for theft & fraud and other criminal activity.
•Take a proactive approach with initiating and completing investigations on internal and external matters in accordance with legal and INGKA requirements.
