IKEA Hotell is in the heart of IKEA, Älmhult. We have been here since 1964 and was built for IKEAs customer to stay a bit longer. Now, about 50 years later we are a business hotel with around 40 co-workers. We welcome guests from near and far. We are serving meatballs, making beds, and acts as the natural meeting place and social hub in Älmhult. Now, with greater capacity than ever we fully focus on the needs of our guests! We offer 254 hotel rooms, 5 conference rooms, large common areas, laundry rooms and gym. We are serving both breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our mission is to make our guests feel at home while staying at IKEA Hotell.
Job description
In the role as Meeting & Event Manager you are responsible for establishing and developing the meeting and event services as one point of entry for all visits, meetings and events in Älmhult. You proactively lead, with great sense of entrepreneurship, the development of the service offer making sure it is supporting the assignment of establishing and developing Älmhult as a destination, as well as leading the team and the business in line with IKEA Hotell Business plan, global and local strategies, and policies. You like to maximize sales and profitability and reaching goals together with the rest of your team. You are flexible and open to changes and take great responsibility in us succeeding. You are passionate about leading teams and creating excellent guest experiences through meetings, events and visits and you always strive to give the guests a positive experience of IKEA Hotel. In addition to this you also represent IKEA as a brand and a location, Älmhult, that has a great impact in the history of IKEA.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will be:
· Lead and develop the team and its team members
· Develop the business and the service offer together with the team
· Set relevant goals for the team and business to ensure the functions delivery
· Secure and implement locally relevant routines, processes and plans ensuring quality assurance and follow up continuously
· Customer invoicing
· Collaborate and cooperate with partners that contribute to the service offer of the destination
Qualification

Your personality is of great importance to us. You are service minded, innovative, curious, business and result driven. We are looking for a leader who acts as an ambassador for IKEA, shares IKEAs values and leads through our values always. You have the ability to engage and inspire others to reach their true potential as well as trying new things in new ways. You have a proven experience of leading a team, either within IKEA or within the service and hospitality business. You also have experience of having budget responsibility. In order to succeed in this role you need to be a strong communicator who can build strong and trustful relationships that develop the business, builds engagement and creates clarity.
As you will be part of a multicultural environment with both domestic and international guests, it is important that you speak and write fluently both in Swedish and English. Additional language skills are a merit. Experience in the hotel business and relevant education is a merit.
