Job description
· You will lead your team by example and spend 80% of your time on the floor listening, acting, helping and supporting customers and co-workers.
· You will support Kitchen Production Manager to fulfil the purpose of the Kitchen function and development.
· You will assemble the team members using the combination of skills to accomplish the department goals.
· You ensure the daily operational routines and actions set out by manager for the area are implemented.
· You will also ensure that the IKEA Quality and Food Safety Policies and routines are followed.
· You will create a “safety first” culture where co-workers are encouraged to raise and discuss concerns and solutions.
· You will ensure there is the right number of co-workers in the right place at the right time to run your area successfully.
· You will support and coach the colleagues on the job so they can meet the needs of our customers and grow professionally.
· You will lead by example and am a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our customers.
· You will have a daily dialogue with our customers to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants and then act according on their input.
· You work actively to create an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality, and diversity is valued, to ensure IKEA Food is regarded as a great place to work.
Qualification
· You have experience working in hotel, restaurant, tourism or business administration and proven leadership abilities.
· You possess decision-making and problem-solving abilities with the drive to make things happen.
· You have general experience in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant or kitchen operation, with proven leadership abilities and commercial acumen in ensuring effective cost and resource management.
· You are service-oriented, able to support the retail peak periods of the store and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact actively with both internal and external visitors to IKEA.
