Who you are

As a Carpenter you will support the Communication & Interior Design team in securing high quality carpentry and paintwork throughout the store. In this way you will directly contribute to consumers' perception of the IKEA brand and the IKEA store as a high-quality and affordable home furnishing specialist.
• You have craftsmanship and carpentry competences and preferably related work experience.
• You have strong visual competences with a keen eye for aesthetics.
• You have a passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and people’s life at home.
• You are able to prioritise and organise your own work in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed deadlines.
• You have good computer skills and AutoCAD knowledge would be a plus.

Your responsibilities

• Using your understanding people’s life at home, range presentation and the IKEA visual identity to support the Communication & Interior Design team in presenting and communicating the IKEA product range.
• Prioritising work to meet the needs and expectations of store visitors and minimise disruption when working on the shop floor.
• Securing high quality, simplicity and cost-consciousness in the execution of work by using best practises and following routines.
• Implementing the agreed communiation & design action plan with a sense of urgency and an eye for detail in order to support the creation of a strong visual impression in the store.
• Being conscious of the importance of safety at all times while working on the shop floor and take fast action when safety is compromised.
• Planning and ordering materials and resources while ensuring costs are accurate and agreed.
• Reducing the environmental footprint and minimising costs by using resources consciously, and maximising opportunities to recycle and reuse materials.

It is important that you are flexible in terms of working hours. Early or late shifts within our opening hours and Saturday assignments will be part of your working schedule.
