About us

InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef is an ultra-luxury private island resort, we are now seeking engaged and motivated professionals to be a part of our ongoing live on island team.

We currently have a rare opportunity for a full time IT Officer to join the team for this exciting journey!

Your day to day

If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand and Hayman Island in this key role which will provide operational IT infrastructure and service support to the Resort team and guests. 

Reporting to the IT Manager and working in partnership with the leadership team, you will work Saturday to Wednesday across all areas of IT and your day to day will include;

Deliver training workshops for Colleagues on IT security and software applications

·  Provide support for all hotel systems within the resort back of house and front of house; desktop PC’s, POS hardware, printers, photocopiers, servers, network switches, wireless AP’s, PABX and mobile devices
·  Ensure the standard configuration of all hardware and software is in line with IHG policy and standard requirements. Ensure that these standards are enforced on a continual basis
·  Manage the IT Helpdesk
·  Co-ordinate IT issues and projects with the IT Manager
·  Coordinate service and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals, printers, photocopiers, data services and mobile phones

Must be eligible to legally work in Australia and hold a valid Australian Driver's License.

 

What we need from you

As the ideal candidate, you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with well-developed skills and experience across a broad range of IT environments, systems, software and hardware. Exposure to performing this role within a resort, hotel or other complex environment will be a plus. You will have the ability to communicate with varied stake holders, both internal and external and have a client-centric approach. Your problem solving skills mean you turn issues into opportunities and have the ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.

Strong knowledge in networking and Microsoft Windows desktop/server operating systems will be critical to your success and you must hold the appropriate rights to work within Australia with no restrictions.
