We are looking for an Investment Analysis Intern on a 6-month fixed term contract who will be predominately supporting market research, feasibility and financial analysis to support IHG’s development of new hotels in a manner which maximises shareholder value and supports company objectives.

Your day to day

As an Investment Analysis Intern your key role and responsibilities will be:

·  Supporting assessment of franchise deals, including evaluation of projected performance and calculation of IHG’s fee earnings.
·  Supporting analysts preparing feasibility studies for new management contract opportunities in Europe, including market research, competitor analysis, P&L analysis, cost benchmarking.
·  Assisting with the preparation of pitch documentation for new hotel opportunities.
·  Supporting with the preparation of papers for presentation of projects to IHG’s internal approval committees & valuation of all new contracts.
·  Conducting analysis to support other strategic projects and IHG’s development reporting
What we need from you

The successful candidate will be studying towards or have a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Finance or a similar relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

You will also need:

·  Strong analytical and numerical skills.
·  Familiarity with hotel financial terminology and key metrics (Revpar, RGI, GOP etc.) Hotel P&Ls and other financial reports
·  Some knowledge of hotel industry real estate investment, ownership models and business models used by hotel chains for development an advantage but not essential.
·  An understanding of financial valuation methodology (DCF) and key investment and accounting principles in the context of hotels would also be an advantage.
·  Good communication and presentation skills.
·  Microsoft Excel and modeling skills
·  Excellent written and spoken English

Our picturesque office in Denham, Buckinghamshire is easily accessible on the A4/M40. Alternatively, many of our employees commute from London – there are regular trains from London Marylebone taking approx. 20 – 35 minutes, or the Metropolitan or Piccadilly tube lines go to Uxbridge where we provide a free shuttle bus.
