Business Analyst
UNITED KINGDOM
Job description
As one of the Best Big Companies to Work For, we have a rich history of loving our customers and looking after our teams.
Success is achieved through our people, and we are looking for a technically fluent, data‑aware Business Analyst to join our growing business on a permanent basis.
This is not a traditional “requirements gatherer” BA role — we need someone who can bridge the gap between business and IT , engage confidently with technical teams, and work hands‑on with data to validate how systems behave.
In this role, you can expect to:
Business Analysis & Change
· Capture and document business requirements across projects.
· Work with Architecture, Development, Testing and Product teams to shape solutions.
· Translate business problems into clear system and data requirements.
· Support process optimisation and efficiency through better use of systems and data.
Technical & Data Responsibilities
· Use SQL (or similar) to query, analyse and validate data.
· Build simple Power BI reports or data views.
· Understand core data structures, schemas and relationships.
· Contribute to discussions on APIs, integrations and data contracts.
· Work with technical teams to understand system architecture and data flows.
· Validate system outputs against source data and transformation logic.
Project Delivery & Support
· Support end -to-end delivery of key projects, ensuring timelines, quality and business benefits are achieved.
· Produce clear project documentation (user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements etc..)
· Assist with test planning and execution, including functional testing and data validation.
· Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement of existing systems, helping the squad meet SLAs.
You should apply if you have:
Technical & Data Skills
· Ability to write and interpret SQL; comfortable analysing and validating data.
· Experience with Power BI or similar tools for basic reporting and exploration.
· Able to understand and analyse APIs, data contracts, schemas and system‑to‑system communication.
· Awareness of core technology concepts such as databases, integrations, data flows and UI vs backend fundamentals.
Business Analysis & Delivery Skills
· Experience in agile delivery, writing user stories and managing backlogs.
· Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tooling.
· Strong analytical and requirement‑refinement skills.
· Ability to work with both business and technical teams to define actionable solutions.
· Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management.
The type of BA who thrives here will:
· Be curious and confident exploring data to understand real behaviour.
· Enjoy understanding how systems actually work, not just capturing user requests.
· Translate between business and technical perspectives.
· Be proactive, collaborative and comfortable challenging assumptions.
· Have a passion for improving processes, systems and user experience.
What to expect from us:
· 15% discount in Iceland stores
· 30% discount at Club Individual Restaurants
· 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
· Free onsite parking
· Onsite electric car charging ports
· Subsidised staff restaurant and Costa Coffee
· Christmas vouchers
· Refer a Friend Scheme
· Christmas Savings scheme
· Discounted dry cleaning
· Long service awards
