We are looking for a technical writer co-op to join the WebSphere Application Server organization. In this dynamic opportunity, you will learn how to design and develop customer documentation for the WebSphere Application Server product portfolio. You will collaborate with a diverse group of developers, designers, and testers in planning and delivering. As a team collaborator, you will gain a sound theoretical and practical understanding of the technical details and produce documentation that delights our customers. The deliverables that you will work with covers a broad spectrum, including traditional text, tutorials, samples, product embedded help, graphics and social channels such as videos and blog posts. The role is wide ranging and you will have the opportunity to develop or hone skills in the following areas:

·  Content design, authoring principles and tools for crafting-high quality information
·  Crafting communications in making complex information meaningful, useful and attractive for users
·  Project facilitation in guiding squads to deliver content on time
·  IBM product knowledge as you work hands-on with the products that you document
·  The build, test and delivery processes that turn our source into client-ready output
·  Programming and scripting technology that drive flexibility and automation into our work
·  Globalization and accessibility

What We Seek:

·  Real passion for communicating effectively to explain or visualize complex concepts clearly and simply.
·  Interest in technology and passion to work with the technology products that you're describing, and learn to troubleshoot issues as you try out scenarios and tasks.
·  Excellent collaboration to form effective relationships with a broad set of colleagues in order to receive and present the very best information.
·  Creativity to identify the best ways of presenting information. You can also help improve aspects of our process. Strong written and oral communication skills.
·  Flexibility to prioritize tasks, and be able to quickly switch between them, and to adjust to changes in the world of content delivery.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Coursework or experience writing user documentation
·  Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in technical communications that includes a concentration in writing computer software documentation
·  Familiarity with Markdown, DITA, ASCiiDoc, source control such as Git, Eclipse, and accessibility
