Associate Scientist - Cell Biology

We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for Associate Scientists to join a leading life sciences company based in the Cambridgeshire area.

We are looking for motivated scientists to join laboratory based teams specialising in using cell based assays such as flow cytometry, ELISpot and ADCC to test immunotoxicity and drug potency of new and existing drugs.

This could be a great role for a recent graduate to progress within a large and growing company as development opportunities will be offered.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Associate Scientist will be mostly lab based. The role will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as following:

1. Analyse pre-clinical and clinical samples under regular supervision from their Line Manager as well as data collection, interpretation and presentation. This will include the use of cell based assays such as flow cytometry, ELISpot and ADCC assays.

2. Develop an understanding of a wide range of techniques as well as the required UK and International GLP guidelines.

3. Monitor results obtained for assigned studies and discuss results on a daily basis with line manager to ensure that results are within stated acceptance criteria

4. Ensure the timely completion of log books and equipment records and that chemicals and reagents in use in the laboratory are clearly labelled. You will also be expected to fulfil any other duties within your competence and experience.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Associate Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a life sciences subject.

2. Previous experience of conducting cell based assays, Flow Cytometry and Immunoassays would be an advantage.

3. An understanding or working experience of the pharmaceutical or biotech industry would be a benefit.
