Job description
· Identify, evaluate, and select prospective suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
· Analyze market trends and internal demand patterns to avoid stock shortages or excesses
· Identify reliable vendors, secure competitive pricing, and negotiate long-term supply contracts
· Verifying delivered food items match the required specifications (e.g., freshness, temperature, bulk amounts) upon arrival.
· Monitor stock levels, track sales trends, and coordinate deliveries so kitchens or manufacturing floors never run out of supplies
· Contacting approved vendors, sending Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and negotiating pricing and delivery terms
· Verify that incoming food items meet health, safety, and quality standards
· Strong attention to detail, proficiency in inventory management software, and the ability to track supplier performance
· Review invoices, track price fluctuations, and partner with management (like Executive Chefs) to optimize costs
· Strong knowledge of market supply chain
· Preferable Chef background
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Minimum of Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management or related field
· 2 years relevant experience in the hospitality sector.
