Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Main Duties

o Operates Steam Boilers and maintains soft water in the boiler feed along with required chemical measures.

o Able to operate plant and equipment to sustain the central services.

o Able to complete the “Engineers Log Sheet” and “Plant Room Log” during the assigned shift. Highlights reading discrepancies.

o Sustains watch-keeping duties throughout his shift and adjusts equipment as deemed necessary to ensure efficient operation.

o Maintains chemistry of all water systems and conducts regular inspections.

o Conducts routine visits to all MEP Rooms.

o Tests fire pumps on a weekly basis.

o Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of Plant Rooms and work areas.

o Able to perform major services to all plant equipment as assigned.

o Takes immediate corrective action in the event of leakage, short circuits, vibration, and any other fault, which may occur, in the Plant Room.

o Responsible for the care of tools and test equipment.

o Utilize HotSOS and take action as necessary.

o Able to fix water pumps, change bearings, and mechanical seals including assembling/disassembling.

o Understands the Generator operation and manual override.

o Able to identify all valves and their purposes in all Plant Rooms including the fire system.

o To help with the installation of new equipment when required.

o Able to repair laundry equipment when required.

o Follow all Safety measures as per Hotel policies and procedures.

o To complete the personal daily job record and time book accurately and keep them ready for inspection.

· General

o To report for duty punctually and well-groomed.

o To provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

o To maintain good working relationships with my own colleagues, and all other departments.

o To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.

o To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

o To have a complete understanding of the Hotel’s rules and regulations and adhere to them.

· Other Duties

o To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

o To respond to changes in the operation as dictated by the Hotel.

o To read the hotel's Associate Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
