Job description

Welcome to the Andaz, where our name translates from Hindi as “personal style”…

Our hotel is not conventional, this is reflected in our people and woven into the fabric of our culture of creating memorable experiences.

Uncover an environment free of barriers, where ideas are exchanged and encouraged. We are a 5 Star Lifestyle Hotel located in the heart of vibrant East London. Featuring 267 newly refurbished rooms, 7 exciting bars & restaurants and 15 diverse event spaces. We embrace people challenging the norm and who aren't afraid of standing out, that's what makes us different – your personal style whether that be tattoos, piercings or pink hair.

Working in a brand like Andaz means we're encouraged to be ourselves in order to have genuine and rewarding interactions with people we encounter, be that other members of staff, guests or external suppliers. All of our activity is aligned to our new purpose of “we care for people so they can be their best” and we really try to drive employee engagement with fun and rewarding events for the employees whenever possible.

My role really is a true HR generalist position and I'm involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruitment and selection, employee relations, training, payroll management and reward & recognition. I understand how HR can influence and drive the business with our people being at the centre of that strategy; as such, it's my responsibility to make sure we have a timely and robust approach.

The diversity within our team and my role really lets me be creative and develop ideas that may then be introduced as new process within our department or the wider operation. I'm also involved in project work and coming up with new ideas and proposals to streamline our HR process or to deliver innovative solutions within the operation, that demonstrate the care we have for our colleagues.

I'm a passionate social media champion as I understand that diversity in the work place requires different and often new ways of connecting with people and understanding what motivates them. I'm always trying to not only develop myself but also the members of my own team and to ensure that as a business we are using innovative and blended learning solutions that engage different learning styles.

I'm a point of contact for employee relations and coaching managers on what course of actions would be most appropriate. Most importantly, not only myself but the whole HR team try to embody our brand values of fun, creativity and integrity; no two days are ever the same and I thrive on the variety my role brings to me.

Being part of Andaz also means, joining the Hyatt family which has over 679 hotels in over 54 different countries, also recognised as a UK Great Place to Work Company !

What is in it for you?

Continuous learning and development is paramount to us. As such, we pride ourselves on developing and supporting all our colleagues. You will have access to various learning opportunities both online and in our dedicated training room.
