In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional service and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Engineering Department in collaboration with all other departments.

Main Duties

Operational Responsibilities

· Collaborate closely with colleagues in a supportive and flexible manner, prioritizing the hotel’s overall success and guest satisfaction.
· Foster strong working relationships with other departments to achieve shared goals.
· Complete all maintenance tasks and requests as per the established schedule, ensuring high-quality workmanship with particular attention to guest-related jobs.
· Operate assigned machines and equipment, ensuring the continuous and consistent supply of utilities necessary for hotel operations.
· Oversee the verification, storage, and utilization of fuel deliveries according to policy and procedures.
· Regularly inspect, maintain, and service all Air Handling Units (AHUs).
· Address guest air conditioning requests promptly and according to specified standards and procedures.
· Inspect, service, and maintain all refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
· Log data at the specified frequency as required by the Engineering Department.
· Adhere to local regulations and codes to avoid hazards and ensure safety compliance.
· Properly handle and maintain all power tools and equipment.
· Submit requisitions for parts and consumables to the Team Leader – Engineering.
· Maintain cleanliness in all work areas and take precautions to protect surroundings during tasks.
· Implement effective energy conservation measures in areas of responsibility.
· Ensure the functionality of fire, life, and safety systems.
· Execute emergency procedures, including responding to fire alarms and performing lift rescues when necessary.
· Complete work orders and preventive maintenance tasks within the specified timelines.
· Report any abnormal conditions related to safety equipment or installations to the Team Leader – Engineering.
· Assist fellow technicians as requested by supervisors.

Customer Service Responsibilities

· Provide courteous and professional service at all times.
· Handle guest and employee inquiries efficiently, escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate parties while ensuring prompt follow-up.
· Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions, fostering good working relationships.

Personnel Responsibilities

· Uphold and reinforce the company’s core values.

Other Responsibilities

· Attend and actively contribute to all training sessions and meetings as required.
· Exhibit responsible behavior at all times, representing both the hotel team and the company positively.
· Establish and maintain professional relationships with representatives from competitor hotels, business partners, and other organizations.
· Familiarize yourself with the hotel's Employee Handbook, adhering to all policies and procedures, especially those related to computer resources, fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety.
· Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
· Be prepared to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as advised by management.
· Adapt to changes in the Engineering Department in response to industry trends and hotel needs.
· Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Education & Certification: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are an advantage.
·  Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role, ideally in a hotel or hospitality environment including experience with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
·  Knowledge of safety regulations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
·  Basic computer skills for logging and systems.
·  Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and a team player. Strong communication and customer service focus.
·  Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, stand, and operate machinery. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
