Job description

Global software firm looking for someone to come on board and actively own the Financial Reference Data Framework of the company.

Description:

This is an important role to own the data model and to lead:

Development into a comprehensive class model of instrument types, corporate action event types and other object types and their relations and interdependencies.

Expansion into additional data domains not currently covered (or not covered in depth) by the current data model. These include entities, positions and specifically scenarios.

Onboarding and specification of value-added business rules around matching, validation and data derivation around this class model.

Movement to a partitionable basis for different packaged solutions for e.g. operations, middle office/market risk and buy side.

Release management in terms of scope, e.g. onboarding new data sets as a result of regulatory development (e.g. Fatca fields as a recent example).

Required knowledge:

Data modelling techniques and tools.

Up to speed on developments in financial instruments and financial data standards (FIBO, ISO standards).

Financial markets operational processes around this and the impact on data requirements (specifically middle office).

Knowledge of Asset Control's data modelling methodology and data management process is important but a key element of the role is to think beyond that.

Skills:

Analytical and market research skills.

Drive to 'own' a critical piece of the product and work independently to further evolve this.

Influencing and organizational skills to productively navigate the organization, to plan and to deliver according to plan.

Ability to work proactively and engage clients, prospects and industry organisations to develop the model and to come to different data packages.

Ability to present and articulate the value and differentiators of the data model in client and industry presentations. Be the internal 'authority' on data standards and the data model. Provide input copy to marketing.
