Humanitarian Operations – (HOPE) is a 'First Responder Disaster Relief Agency' established on September 1st, 2004,
At the end of 2018, many of those involved sought approval to establish a charitable organisation that would be free to assist on a needs-assessed basis - in line with the principles established by the United Nations.
At Humanitarian Operations, we are developing a prototype “city style” game in Unity to fund our disaster relief operations globally. The new Unity Designer/Developer will develop the current Unity project and be responsible for bringing new digital user experiences onto the rig, for research, test and sales purposes.
Your role includes:
Working with the art department to insert assets into Unity
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address and mitigate these problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Preparing the product for Demo Days and customer visits.
Develop, test, document and deploy robust and scalable solutions
About You
You will stop at nothing until the game is simple and delightful to use. You are a Unity die-hard who loves to find new assets and ways to optimise and increase reality of the world and experiences within it and how to optimise your code to prevent jitter.
Your background might include:
Experience working as a Unity designer/developer either for conceptual or commercial projects games, 2D interfaces or 3D interfaces, either in-house or in an agency
Unity developers with AR/VR experience will be strongly considered.
Excellent knowledge of Visual Studio, Unity, C#, Mobile Experience (iOS, Android)
Experience of using Unity, including experience with scripting
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
Knowledge of code versioning tools
