Global Publishing Services (GPS) is part of HSBC Group's publishing centre of excellence specialising in web content management, design execution, document presentation formatting and digitisation. We are strategically located in Sri Lanka, Philippines, Egypt and China.
Job description
The primary role of a Web Production Officer is to provide content management for designated websites. The web production officer will produce web pages and content fragments, as well as limited bespoke XHTML code, using a range of HSBC Group-owned web content management systems, and publish content online that fit project requirements and adhere to content and design guidelines as well as established industry standards and best practices.
The jobholder is required to have a level of understanding of content management systems used by HSBC, and will have to achieve competency in those systems.
The jobholder's main responsibilities are:
· Editing and managing content, checking facts, and ensuring overall governance and integrity of content of websites
· Improve site accessibility and search engine optimisation
· Assist in maintaining and improving website metrics
· Manage tagging requirements
· Help manage Compliance and copyright tracking as required by website owners
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Qualifications
Post-secondary education - either at the degree level or a relevant professional diploma or certificate
· 3-5 years of relevant/related working experience
· Web development and online content management experience essential; knowledge of Group content management systems (BDE, Sitecore and SiaB) a bonus
· Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
· Knowledge of the fundamentals of standards-based HTML and XHTML
· Experience with CSS and JavaScript is desirable
· Experience with scanning, illustration, slide creation and image manipulation to support website management and production
· Good interpersonal skills
· Strong command of both written and spoken English
· Strong attention to details under pressure and ability to meet deadlines
· Structured, systematic working style
· Able to work as part of a team
· Positive attitude and keen to learn
· Can maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced work atmosphere
· Flexibility in working different shifts when required
· Available to work overtime on weeknights and weekends if necessary
