VP Credit Manager, HSBC Bank USA N.A., San Francisco, CA:
Independently manage a portfolio with high volume of large, complex transactions (amendments, new money requests, new-to-bank clients). Lead and provide oversight on full end-to-end credit process (internal and client discussions, underwriting, legal documentation process, and funding) for various transactions including annual renewals, amendments, and new-money requests. Develop junior talent by reviewing team members’ financial models and credit submissions to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with internal policies, and providing feedback. Coordinate with key stakeholders, lead client calls/discussions with lenders, drive credit transactions process, to articulate the broader picture while remaining sufficiently detailed and organized. Own Worry Watch Monitor entries in AI and discussion for assigned clients. Engage in Deal Prioritization Committee (DPC) discussions and answer credit-related questions as applicable. Support team and bank objectives through initiatives and value-add ideas. Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements in credit underwriting procedure and across core banking systems.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, Pay range: $160,222 - $170,222 per year.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related experience.
Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
· Working for an international bank; and
· Working in Commercial Banking.
Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:
· Underwriting including independently leading diligence process, analyzing historical and projected financial performance, identifying key attributes, accurately outlining key risks/mitigants, drafting credit papers, and collaborating across functions to drive approval process for prospects for complex transactions;
· Working with criticized assets (worry/watch/monitor relationships);
· Coaching and developing junior talent;
· Working with Excel to model complex financial analysis, projection scenarios, and enterprise valuations including managing challenge process with credit approval team;
· Assessing industry research and peer selection and analysis;
· Structuring and reviewing loan documentation for complex credits; and
· Interfacing with clients and lender groups as applicable.
Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:
· Managing a large portfolio of complex middle market, large corporate, international subsidiary banking, and global banking insurance companies to include monitoring the financial performance and health, processing amendments, completing annual reviews, monitoring and calculating financial covenants, and underwriting new money requests; and
· System experience including CARM, wREN, CAPIQ, Credit Data Warehouse, Credit Lens, or Compass.
Domestic travel required up to 10%.
